Justin Yancey

Justin Hunter Yancey, 16, of Chester, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Chippenham Medical Center. Justin lost his battle with Leukemia, but he fought hard with true warrior spirit and pride. He will always be remembered because he embodied what "TEAM JUSTIN" was all about; he was a Sophomore at Matoaca High School. Justin is survived by his parents, Kathleen Yancey and Mark Allen Yancey, one brother, Matthew Allen Yancey all of Chester; paternal grandparents, Bill and Ellen Yancey of Chesterfield; maternal grandmother, Gloria Leahey of Georgia; two uncles, James Leahey Jr. and wife, Dianna of Mechanicsville, David Yancey and wife, Grace of Chesterfield; aunt, Andrea Kurtz and husband, Mark of Chesterfield. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3100 Greenwood Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Shawn Franco officiating. Interment Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
