Justine Birdsong Potts, 79, of Dinwiddie passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Chesterfield, she was the daughter of the late Wilton H. and Verena Phillips Birdsong, and the widow of William T. Potts. Mrs. Potts was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Birdsong, sisters, Nedra Ramey and Virginia Harris, and a son-in-law, Mickie Gravitte. She is survived by daughters, Connie Fann and husband, Pat of Spainville, Lee Smith and husband, Darian of Dinwiddie, and Lynn Gravitte of Matoaca; grandchildren, Robyn Warren, Corey Smith; two great-grandchildren, Kaydence and Preston Sebera; sister; Marie Hawkins of Colonial Heights; brother, Wilton "Buster" Birdsong and wife, Caroline of Richmond; numerous nieces and nephews; best friend, Louise Dayvault and family of Dinwiddie. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
