Karl Pritchett, Jr.

Karl Benjamin Wallace Pritchett Jr., 85, of Colonial Heights passed away peacefully on Thursday April 1, 2021 after a brief illness. Born in Fredericksburg, Va. on December 31, 1935, he was the son of the late Karl B.W. Pritchett & Cora Webb Pritchett, and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Boggis, & Thelma Griffin; and his faithful Friend Oliver.

Karl is survived by his loving wife of 35yrs Jean Perkinson Pritchett; son Benjyman W. Pritchett of Nomini Grove, VA.; daughter, Suzanne Brogdon (Robert) of Oak Ridge, NC: stepchildren, Julie Wamsley (Michael) of Colonial Heights, Jason Miller (Brooke) of Richmond; four grandchildren, Drew, Lexy, Matthew & Natalie; great-grandson, Mason; two brothers, Milton B. Pritchett & Jerrell H. Pritchett.

Karl Graduated from James Monroe High School in 1954 and went on to proudly serve in the United States Air Force. After serving his country, he began a long career as a top Executive with Levi Strauss & Co. After retiring from Levi’s, he returned to Colonial Heights and was a successful business owner of Pritchett’s Decorating for over 20 years. Karl was a very active member in his community, as a member of the Chamber of Commerce, The Kiwanis Club, The Jaycees, The Lions Club, The VFW and other Civic Organizations.  Personally, Karl enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and working in his yard. He was a man with strong family and faith values. He was an active member Mount Pleasant Baptist church for over 20 years and will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021 in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Ave, Colonial Heights, VA 23834, with Reverend Dr. Andy Brockelman officiating. Interment will be private in Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at church.
