Karlie Burke Jones

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Karlie Burke Jones, age 17, of Church Road, Virginia, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.  She was the beloved daughter of Gregory Todd Jones and Kristie Catherine Maitland. She was born in Virginia on July 30, 2006.  Karlie was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Ashby, Carol Lee Maitland, and her grandfather, Roger Pryor Jones, Jr. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her half-sister, Ashley Brooke Jones Perkinson (Brad), and grandmother, Barbara Bishop Jones.  Karlie had many close family members and friends. She loved her aunts and uncles, Aunt Tracy (Kevin), Aunt Ann Pryor (Billy), Aunt B. (Dwayne) and Uncle Mike (Doris).  She was especially close to her cousins, Courtney (DJ), Dylan (Kaitlyn), and Greenleigh.   Karlie also had a lifelong best friend, Jordan Fowler.  They met in the second grade and have been inseparable ever since.  We cannot forget her four-legged friend Ruby Jones – if only she could speak, she would spill all her secrets.  Karlie loved the outdoors, especially lakes, pools, fishing, and beach trips to the family cottage.  She had a love for music, dancing, and simply a love for life. She will be missed immensely.

 A Celebration of Karlie’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8,2024, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Karlie.
