Katherine Joan Williams Hogue, 78, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Bluefield, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Alexander S. and Katherine M. Williams, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Marcella Moore & Dorothy Coleman; two brothers, Donald & Richard Williams; and a grandson, Jonathan Brockwell Peters. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where she was the church Librarian for 10 years. Mrs. Hogue was the founder of the Tri-Cities La Leche League, and member of the Colonial Heights Federated Woman's Club. She is survived by her husband, Marvin Fulton Hogue, daughters, Marcia Hogue Peters (Steve) of Powhatan, Laura Hogue Wade (Ken) of Powhatan, Stephanie Hogue Zahringer (Jim) of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Angela Peters Callahan (David), Jacquelyn Peters Beiter (Jason), Sean Peters, Mary Katherine Melton Pierson (Aaron), Chad Melton, William Melton, Tiffany Wade Sand (Justin), Brittany Wade Skinner (Daniel), Tyler Wade, Jeremy Zahringer, and Alexa Zahringer; great-grandchildren, Katherine Pierson, Jaxson Sand, and Lindsey Skinner; sister, Shirley Williams Sellars of Virginia; a brother, Kenneth Lloyd Williams of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Dr. Andrew Brockelman officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
