Kathleen Turner Maitland, 86, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed peacefully to be with her Lord on June 14, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bernard Maitland Jr.; her parents, Gilbert W. and Carrie Marks Turner; her brother, Marks Turner; and her sister, Betty T. Marks. Born in Southampton County, she lived in the Petersburg area since 1943. She was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church, serving as Elder, Lifetime Member of Presbyterian Women and former Sunday school teacher. She retired from Southside Regional Medical Center in 1991, after twenty years in the accounting office. Special thanks to the entire staff of Dunlop House and to Crater Hospice for the loving care given to her. She is survived by her two daughters, Kay M. Taillon (Roger) of Scotch Plains, New Jersey and Dianne M. Hack (Connie) of Colonial Heights, Virginia; five grandchildren, Betsy Taillon, Tom Taillon (Katie), Carrie Fuentes (Chris), Jen Gould (Allen), and Linda Hevener (Scott); and eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Connor and Reilly Taillon, Ryan Fuentes, Josh Gould, Cody, Curtis and Jacob Hevener. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, June 18, 2012 in the Second Presbyterian Church, 419 W. Washington Street, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with Dr. Daniel E. Hale officiating, with interment in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S.
