Kathryn Barnes

Kathryn "Kitty" Barnes, 91, of Colonial Heights passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Richard Edward and Ivey Spain Vaughan. Mrs. Barnes was the widow of Collis O. Wells and Joseph A. Barnes and was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara W. Hoke. She was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Barnes is survived by her four daughters, Connie W. Brockwell and husband, Gene of Sutherland, Mary B. Price and husband, Robert of Chester, Martha B. Winters and husband, David of Prince George, Linda B. Veazey and husband, Morris of Colonial Heights; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 11, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Mike Osborne officiating. Interment, Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday, May 10, 2010 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
