Kathy Britt

Kathy Kay Britt, 58, of S. Chesterfield was called home to God unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. She was born in Ivor, Virginia on November 25, 1963 to the late John and Margaret Ellen Smith. She was dearly loved by her two children, Matthew Britt (Rosemary) and Audrey Britt (fiancé Shane), and is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew Britt Jr. and Lacy Britt; brothers, Paul Smith (Sandy), David Smith (Susan), and Kimball Smith; former spouse and friend, Phillip Britt; nieces and nephews; and many close family friends and loved ones. Kathy’s hobbies included gardening, plants and flowers, spending time with her friends and family, and being a Memaw to Lacy and Grandma to Matthew. She served as an EMT for the Matoaca Rescue Squad for nine years and she loved taking care of and helping others. She worked at several vet offices and was currently working as a caregiver. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with Rev. Mike Osborne officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, Virginia 23805.
