Kerry Wayne Lynch, Sr., 59, of Dinwiddie passed away after a brief illness Sunday, March 7, 2021. He was born January 28, 1962. He is survived by his parents, Pat and Bennie Foster; three children, Ashley Pelton (James), Donald Lynch (Katherine), and Kerry Wayne Lynch Jr.; five grandchildren, Lily, Luke, and Trace McGhee, Donald Wayne “DJ” Lynch, Jr., and Skyler Rose Lynch; three brothers, identical twin Perry Lynch (Sally), Bennie Gene Foster (Tammy), and Frankie Foster (Carol); two nephews, Michael Lynch and Christopher “CB” Lynch; and special friend, Mary Sanderson. In his younger years, Kerry served in the US Army and was stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He became a Jumpmaster while enlisted, and he loved being a paratrooper in the 82 nd Airborne Division. He continued to skydive on occasion and he even took his daughter Ashley since it was on her bucket list. As much as he loved that, his greatest love was his children whom he was so proud of. He never missed an opportunity to talk about them to anyone who would stop and listen. He will be missed more than words can say by his family and friends. Fly high Kerry! Kerry’s remains will rest from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Waverly Cemetery, 219 Spring Branch Road, Waverly, Virginia 23890. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com .
