Kevin Lewis

Kevin Gene "Sug" Lewis, 61, of Dinwiddie, VA, passed away May 19. 2018, with his loving family by his side in Johnston Willis Hospital. Sug was born on December 29, 1956 in Petersburg, VA to Joseph and Betty Lewis. He was preceded in death by his mother Frances "Betty" Lewis; grandparents, Margaret "Teebee" and Frank Lewis Sr, and Mary and William "Dudley" Nanny; uncles, Charles Edward Lewis and Kenneth Nanny; stepmother, Ruth Burnette Lewis; and stepbrother, Dennis Burnette. Sug worked at Gentry Well Works for over 14 years before moving to Bishop & Taylor Towing and Repair where he worked until he came down with his illness. Sug loved spending time with his family and friend, and hunting. Sug is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda M. Lewis; daughter, Jennifer Lewis (Scott Bishop, Sug's best friend); father, Joseph Lewis (Nancy Gibbs), all of Dinwiddie, VA; step-granddaughter, Jessica Harris (Stephen); five step-grandchildren, Laci and Preston Smith, and Meyah, Anabella, and Kinsleigh Harris, all of Dewitt, VA; sister, Sandra Lewis, of Colonial Heights, VA; brothers, Donnie Lewis (Laura), of Church Road, VA and David Lewis (Gwen), of Dinwiddie, VA; stepsisters, Patricia Urda (Eddie), of Bracey, VA, Mary Livesay, of Fredericksburg, VA, and Lynda Slade (Victor Sr.), of Dinwiddie, VA; stepbrother, Howard Burnette Sr. (Pam), of Petersburg, VA; aunt, Kathy Belcher, of Missouri; father-in-law, William "Billy" McCormick; brother-in-law, Larry McCormick (Mary), all of Dinwiddie, VA; special friends, Ted Baxtor and Buck Lewis, of Dinwiddie, VA; beloved dogs, Dallie and Tiny; granddogs, Luke, Lucy, Bo Duke, and Daisy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. A visitation will be held at E. Alvin Small Funeral Home Petersburg Chapel, 3935 S. Crater Rd, Petersburg, VA 23805 on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at Smyrna Baptist Church, 18971 Carson Rd, Dinwiddie, VA, 23841 on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
