Lance Tucker

Lance Warren Tucker, of Colonial Heights, Virginia; He was born on July 31, 1926, in Richmond, Virginia, and passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Jean A. Tucker for five years; father of sons, John (Sheri) of Petersburg, VA, Barry of Sutherland, VA, daughter, Karen (Ken) Vollmar of Davison, MI; stepfather to the late Darrell (Kathy) Varner of Black Hawk, SD, Susan (David) Oliver of Waterford, MI, and Sue (Vince) Foresta of Petersburg, VA. He was a grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by one brother, Linwood (Joyce) Tucker of California. Lance is preceded in death by his first wife, Donna; his father, Eli; mother, Nannie; three brothers, Lewis, Alfred, and Stuart; and a sister, Dorothy Rozof.

Lance was a World War II veteran, who served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener, and also loved many sports, including NASCAR Auto Racing. Mr. Warren enjoyed the outdoors and traveling in the R.V. He retired in 1986 from G.M.S.P.O. in Drayton Plains, MI, after 30 years of dedicated service, and was also a part-time real estate sales associate for many years. He also worked for Kosma Enterprises, Inc. He enjoyed helping others in need, and will be greatly missed by loved ones, friends, and neighbors.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan, at a later date.
