On this day Landon A. Wray (Buddy) 62, of Colonial Heights departed this life to be with Jesus Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at his residence, due to his liver transplant following a courageous battle with terminal cancer. He was a lifetime native of Colonial Heights and a wonderful, not to mention devoted, husband to his wife, Victoria Lange Wray. Mr. Wray was preceded in death by his father, Landon A. Wray, Sr. and his first wife, mother of his three children, Cathy Rogers Wray. He was father to, Kandi Corum and her husband, Roy, their children, Cathy Brown, Laura, Katie, Megan, and Ryan Corum of Chesterfield; Stephanie Duck and her husband, Bobby, their children, Krysten Wray, Josephine and Hunter Duck of Colonial Heights; Richard Wray, Sr. and his wife, Stacey Lange Wray and grandson, Richard A. Wray, Jr. of Richmond; adopted son, Michael B. Wray of Colonial Heights; step-son, Clint T. Wade and his wife, Susan of Hopewell; great-grandfather to Jacob and Aydan Brown of Chesterfield; son to Amelia McDonald; brother to Constance H. Myers of Petersburg, Catherine L. Abernathy of Gasburg, Bobbie W. Rhodes and Dottie W. Harvanek of Colonial Heights; a friend to many, especially Tracy Masi, Roger Cordle, David Johnson, Chip Newcomb, David Andrews, and Dallas Dowling just to name a few; and not to forget his two loyal Chihuahua companions, Casey and Maggie. Buddy Wray may you rest in peace. We love and miss you very much. God speed ‘till we meet again on angel's wings. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Pastor Dennis Myers officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Following the burial you are invited to gather at the Chester Christian Church, 4330 Curtis Street, Chester, Virginia 23831 to fellowship with friends and family.
