Larry Droddy

Larry Neal Droddy, 63, of Petersburg passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. He was the son of the late John Droddy Jr. and Ola Mae Mircle Droddy. He was also pre-deceased by a sister Marlene D. Carter. He was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church in Chesterfield and was a past employee at the Walmart Distribution Center in Dinwiddie. Mr. Droddy is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Ann Grinstead Droddy; brothers and sisters, Robert G. Droddy of Dinwiddie, Shelia D. Crump and husband, Kurt of Colonial Heights, Kathy D. Rice of North Carolina, Carolyn D. Abernathy and husband, Steve and brother, Terry L Droddy all of Dinwiddie, several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. A special thanks to his devoted aunt and uncle, Voncile and Joe Elmore and to Toni Hashburg, Tonya Gillis, Momma Lucy and CC and all the ministers participating in the service. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the Crater Road Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, 23805 with the Reverends Wayne Williams, Alton Hinson, Dwayne Walker and Mike Ruppert officiating. Entombment to follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Larry loved working in the yard and outside plants would be welcome.
