Larry Wilkes

Larry Richard Wilkes, 60, of DeWitt, died Friday October 22, 2010 at Retreat Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Slaughter Wilkes; a son, Jonathan, and a daughter Robin; sisters, Patsy Ericson and Sue Proctor; brothers, Douglas and Robert Wilkes. Larry served six years in the 82nd Airborne Division. He spent many years as a carpenter and truck driver. Larry had a gift with gardening and building birdhouses and log cabins. Animals of all kind had a special place in his heart. He will be dearly missed. A celebration of Larry's life will be held at a later date.
