Laurence Amiss Jr.

Laurence Harvie Amiss Jr., 88, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Richmond, he was the son of the late Laurence H. Amiss Sr. and Sarah Harris Amiss. He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church, past Worshipful Master-1956 Woodland Heights Lodge #345, Blandford Masonic Lodge #3 AF & AM, the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284, the 40 & 8 Voiture #1530, and the Colonial Heights Senior Citizens Club. Mr. Amiss was a United States Coast Guard veteran, a United States Merchant Marine, having served during World War II, and a retired Salesman with Martin Oldsmobile Toyota. He is survived by his wife, Mary K. Amiss. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July, 1, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dorothy O'Quinn officiating. A Masonic service will be held prior to the service at the funeral home.
