Laverne Wilson

WILSON, LaVerne May Heil, 85, of Matoaca, passed away in her sleep on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at the Dunlop House in Colonial Heights. LaVerne was born to Edward and May Heil on September 23, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri and lived there for 80 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 50 years, Lloyd V. Wilson of St. Louis. LaVerne is survived by her brother, Ron E. Heil of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and his wife, Alberta; son, Jim Wilson and his wife, Anne of Matoaca, Virginia and daughter, Carole Greene of Boardman, Ohio. She was always proud of her four grandchildren who have blessed her with twelve great-grandchildren. Andy Wilson and Heather of Apex, North Carolina, are parents of Danielle, Nathan, Grace, Isaac, Promise and Joshua. Matt Wilson and Dona of Fredericksburg, Virginia, are parents of Sam, Jackie, Sophie, and Gabriel. Becky Greene Whitney and Ben of Akron, Ohio, are parents of Brady. Caryn Greene VanderLaan and Warren of Hawthorne, California are parents of Stella. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, May 12, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in St. Louis County, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Virginia or Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
