Lawrence George

Lawrence E. "Gene" George, 88, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Lawrence C. and Ellie Lee George, and the widower of Kayte McLeod George. Mr. George was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church, a United States Navy veteran having served during World War II, the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284, and the Lowndes County VFW Post #4272. He was a retired Military Analyst with Fort Lee civil service. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Carol George of Colonial Heights. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2011 in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester with the Reverend Dr. Steve Felker officiating.
