In the early morning of July 30, 2014, Lawrence Wayne Procise, 70, of Colonial Heights passed away. He was born in Petersburg on September 4, 1943 to Virginia Wilson Procise and the late Lawrence Lewis Procise. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Lewis Procise; his nephew, Todd Wade Campbell; his grandson, Blake Lane Jordan; and his faithful pets, Jake and Max. He was a man of many roles. He was an electrician at Honeywell for 20 years, a member of group IBEW 666, the Reliability Engineering Group, the Hopewell Moose Lodge, and the Petersburg Eagles. Among his many qualities, he was a fantastic cook and a devoted family man. He was also a man who could tell a good joke; it was his sense of humor that endeared him to so many people. He was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, an uncle; and ultimately, he was a good friend towards everyone he knew. Lawrence Wayne Procise was a good man, and he will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Procise; his three children, Tammera Ducey and husband, Robert James Ducey Jr., Sherrie Procise, and Larry Donald Procise and wife, Jennifer Walker Procise; his six grandchildren, Adam Ducey and girlfriend, Shawna Creeger, Andrew Starnes, Alyssa Starnes and fiancé, Jarid Abraham, Samantha Kozak and husband, Mark, Erin Jones and fiancé, Brandon Ladd, and Chelsea Jones; his four great-grandchildren, Harper Kozak, Avery Ladd, Cleo Star Abraham, and Sophia Kozak; his mother, Virginia Wilson Procise; his sister, Marcia Campbell; and his niece, Kim Campbell. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Bill Rawlings officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
