Lawrence Jacob "Guts" Rolley, 75, of Disputanta, Virginia passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at his home. Born September 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Payton P. "PP" and Maude S. Rolley, and was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Bailey of Wakefield; and brother, Dickie Rolley of Florida. Lawrence was a local businessman, most recently owner of LJ Cart Sales. He was retired from Advance Auto and was well known as the owner of "That's A Burger". He loved fishing, spending time with family and friends, and was a kind man who helped many people throughout his life. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Linda J. Rolley; caregiver, dedicated and beloved daughter, Hope Rolley; very special granddaughter, Taylor Dodd, who was the light of his life; beloved brother, George "Al" Rolley and wife, Wilda; nieces, Roseanne Bailey, Mary Francis Scott and husband, Brian, Pam Rolley, Doris Bailey; nephew, George A. "Bubba" Rolley, Jr.; many great nieces and great nephews; sisters-in-law, Brenda White and husband, Jack, Sandy Johnson, Beverly Moss and husband, Tommy; brother-in-law, Henry Johnson and wife, Linda; and many other extended family members and cherished friends. The family would like to give very special recognition to their long-time family and friends, Marcus Hackett, Christina Lawson, Mary Francis Scott and Wilda Rolley for their loving and caring assistance in this time of need. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Liberty Baptist Church, 3808 Woodlawn St, Hopewell, VA 23860, with Pastor Phil Andrews officiating. Interment will be private. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
