Lawrence Alva (Larry) Wilson, 80, of Colonial Heights passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018. Born in Staunton, Virginia on August 23, 1938, he was the son of the late, Harvey G. and Addie I. Wilson. He was preceded in death by brothers, William I. and Curtis O. Wilson; a sister, Elizabeth A. Lemons; and a granddaughter, Jessica A. Velvin. He was a faithful member of Highland United Methodist Church and the Morning Star Sunday school class. Larry retired from North America Assurance Society with 18 years of service and from Napier Realtors after 24 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia Carpenter Wilson; daughters, Kathy Heretick (Marty) and Lucinda Lorentz (David); grandchildren, Marty Heretick II (Gina), Terri Faber (Chris), Bobby Heretick, Brittany Lorentz, and Tara Lorentz; great-grandchildren, Kayla Dressler and Lacey Heretick. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Highland United Methodist Church, 125 E. Westover Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland United Methodists Church or the Colonial Heights Fire & EMS, 100 Highland Avenue, Suite B, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
