Lear Munford Sr.

Lear C. Munford Sr., 89, of Prince George, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Southside Regional Medical Center.  He was born May 6, 1932, in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Clarence and Carrie Overstreet Munford, and was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathryn Whitmore and Jane Swatts; and brothers, Paul H. Munford and Clarence Munford.

Mr. Munford was a United States Air Force Veteran, having proudly served during the Korean Conflict, and retired in 2015 as the former owner of Munford’s TV Service in Peterburg. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Carson, Virginia.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy V. Munford; a son, Lear C. Munford Jr.; a daughter, Patricia Ann Munford; beloved dog, Bridget; and numerous nieces & nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday,  August 15, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 18310 Halifax Road, Carson, Virginia 23830.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 18310 Halifax Road, Carson, Virginia 23830.
