Lee Slatten

Lee Russell Slatten 86 of Colonial Heights, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at her residence. She was born November 1, 1929 in Gladys, Virginia to the late Van and Edna Rosser Russell and was preceded in death by her husband Harold Slatten. Mrs. Slatten was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of Second Chance Baptist Church in Petersburg. She is survived by her four children, Sherry Grubbs of Chester, Lance M. Slatten of Colonial Heights, Caron Caruso and husband, John of Gaston, North Carolina, John Slatten and wife, Pamela of Indianapolis; fourteen grandchildren, Richard McCready and wife, Amber, Jennifer Elmore and husband, Brian, Michael Thompson and wife, Grace, Jillian Blankenship and husband, Robert, Lindsay Slatten, David Thompson and wife, Kristin, Amanda Slatten, Laura Slatten, Carolyn Slatten, Shannon Slatten, Mary Slatten, Gabriel Slatten, Allistair Slatten, Gilbert Slatten; ten great-grandchildren, Eden Elmore, Cole McCready, Todd Anspach, Joshua Blankenship, Braydon and Brendon Davis, Isabella and Joshua Jr. Chisolm, Annakate Thompson, Asher Thompson; Aunt Esther, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in the Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Second Chance Baptist Church, 2701 County Drive Petersburg, Virginia 23803. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com/.
