Leeland Finchum

Leeland Antonio Hope Finchum, 8, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2022. He was born May 13, 2014 and was diagnosed with Leukemia A L.L. on February 14, 2020. Leeland was in remission for 2 ½ years but contracted a bacteria that was too strong to fight. He attended Midway Elementary School in Dinwiddie.  Leeland  is survived by his parents, Traci Hope and Aaron Finchum; God parents, Angela and Wilson Rivera; brother, Brian Hope; grandparents, Elizabeth Hope, Collen Finchum, Dave DeBoer, and Ardna and Richard Belcher; aunts and uncles, Shawnda Hope, Lisa Nieves, Bobby and Beverly Vaughan, Gene Finchum, Melisa “Carey”, and Joe Small; numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friends, Dr. Frances Austin, and Tiffany and Crystal Hope.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Wayne Williams officiating.  Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, Virginia.  The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
