Leo Carrier

Leo Joseph Carrier, 77, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Winchendon, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Aime and Lucille Carrier. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Marlene Virginia (Diamantopoulos) Carrier. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, and the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284. Mr. Carrier was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served during the Korean War, and retired from the Department of Defense. He is survived by a loving friend, Ruby B. Nowell. A special "thank you" to Dr. Jay Goldberg and the nursing staff of Southside Regional Medical Center for their care and compassion provided to Mr. Carrier. Interment will be held at a later date in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Restoration Fund, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon, Massachusetts 01475 or the St. Ann Catholic Church, Improvement Fund, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
