Leslie Dixon

June 15, 1925 — February 3, 2018

Leslie Gill Dixon, 92, a resident of the Petersburg Home for Ladies, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Born in Dinwiddie County, she was the daughter of the late Cooper C. and Kate Wicks Gill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Roland Dixon, two sisters, Myrtle Gill Foster and Lillian Gill Lewis; and four brothers, Willard O. Gill, Cooper E. Gill Sr. Charlie G. Gill Sr. and Herman P. Gill. Mrs. Dixon was a member of Central Baptist Church for many years, and a retired employee with Titmus Optical. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including one special niece, Gloria Doss and husband, Raymond of Colonial Heights. Mrs. Dixon left a special message for her nieces and nephews, "Love one another, love God and put Him first." A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Jonathan Waits officiating. Burial will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the funeral home.
