Lillian A. Yarrington passed away at Hospice of Virginia, on April 7, 2011 at age 90. She was a devout Christian who loved her Lord and Savior and her church. Lillian is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. Yarrington, parents, George and Inez Perkins of Petersburg, sisters Virginia P. Ludwig of Richmond, and Ruth P. Hazelgrove of Farmville. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, having moved her membership from Second Baptist in Petersburg back in the 60's. She had served as a Sunday school teacher and Deaconess. In her younger years, Lillian loved to bowl and take long walks for exercise. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at the Petersburg Home for Ladies where she was a resident. Most of all, she loved being with her family. She is survived by her daughters, June Y. Eubank (Robert) of Macon, Ga., and Judy Y. Blake of South Boston; grandsons David F. Eubank of Milton, Ga., Ryan C. Eubank (Bridget) of Chesterfield, Richard E. Blake, Jr. (Kris) of Glen Allen, Matthew W. Blake (Adina) of South Boston, granddaughter Kathryn B. Gobble (Travis) of Colonial Heights; six great-grandchildren, Ashton, Tucker and Audrey Blake of South Boston, Tyler Blake of Glen Allen, and Mason and Ethan Eubank of Chesterfield; three nieces, Charlotte Hazelgrove of Farmville, Linda H. Young of Chesterfield, and Janet L. Meanley of Deltaville. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in Immanuel Baptist Church, 620 Lafayette Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Fred Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
