Linda Akin

Linda Rountree Akin, 65, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Born on April 21, 1953 in Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Blanchard G. and Carrie Byram Rountree, and the widow of Gary Morris Akin. She was a member of Dinwiddie Baptist Church and a nurse for over 25 years, ending her career at Chippenham Medical Center. She is survived by a son, Jason M. Akin of Dinwiddie; a daughter, Jennifer A. Shaylor (Chris); two grandchildren, Lee A. Shaylor and Jackson G. Shaylor.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Dinwiddie Baptist Church, 18418 Wilkinson Road, Dinwiddie, Virginia 23840 with the Reverend Malcolm Hutton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
