Linda Proffitt Beasley, 82, of Chester passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024. She was born on November 17, 1941, in Petersburg to the late Albert and Audrey Proffitt and was preceded in death by her husband, William Beasley; stepmother, Annette Proffitt; brother, Al “Buddy” Proffitt; and son, Skipper Humphries. Mrs. Beasley loved to travel with her husband Bill, fishing, bird watching, playing cards, bingo, and helping others. She is survived by her sons, William “Bill” Everette Beasley III, Bryon K. Beasley (Becky), John L. Beasley (Apryl) and Jeffrey Gordon Humphries (Susan); daughters, Tamara L. Queen (Carter) and Cheryl D. Evans (John); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brother, Bert Proffit (Becky). A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory with Rev. Tony Kohout officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation (Parkinson.org/donate), or to Crater Community Hospice.
