Lloyd Elwood Guerin, 91, of Colonial Heights, VA, died on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Johnston Willis Hospital. Born in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Helen Guerin, and was also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Claire Poitras Guerin.
After his service in the U.S. Army, Lloyd enjoyed a distinguished career in civil service at the Army Logistics Management College (ALMC) and the LOG Center at Fort Lee. A dedicated member of St. Ann Catholic Church, he served faithfully as an usher and was a proud longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Lloyd was also actively involved in the community as a member of the American Legion Post #284 in Colonial Heights and a former participant in the Jaycees. His commitment to public service extended to local government, where he served on the Colonial Heights City Council, including a term as Vice Mayor.
He is survived by his two sons, Mark Guerin (Nancy) of Fredericksburg, VA and Kenneth Guerin (Carol) of Midlothian, VA; five grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica), Danielle (Cross), Carolyn, Allison (Matthew), and Jessica; five great-grandchildren, Savannah, Julian, Levi, Colton, and Evelina; as well as several generations of nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 US-1, S. Chesterfield, Virginia 23834. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Entombment will follow in St. Ann Catholic Cemetery. Fellowship to follow in Condon Hall at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Colombus or the Martha’s at St. Ann Catholic Church, or to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S.
