Lonnie Kissner

February 28, 1918 — March 23, 2014

Lonnie James Kissner, 96, of Lake Gaston, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was the son of the late Thomas Henry and Berta Benton Kissner. Mr. Kissner was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in WWII in the Paratrooper Division, and was a member of the Lake Gaston Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Millicent Young Kissner; sons, David Young Kissner, William Alan Kissner and wife, Pamela, and Donald Wayne Kissner; grandchildren, David Young Kissner II and wife, Tina, Kevin Alan Kissner, and William Nathan Kissner and wife, Erin; grand godson, Thomas Benjamin Hunziger and wife, Aljona; great grandchildren, Luke John Kissner, Jared Young Kissner, Jillian Sue Kissner, Jessa Dawn Ackerman, Peyton Alan Kissner and Leighanna Gayle Kissner. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014 in the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 South Crater Road with the Reverend Todd Stout officiating. Entombment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lake Gaston Baptist Church Mission fund, or the Mission fund at your own church in memory of Lonnie J. Kissner.
