Louis Wayne Braxton Sr.

Louis Wayne Braxton Sr., 70, of Colonial Heights, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Born January 14, 1955, he was the son of the late Viola Ketchum Braxton and Louis Braxton, Jr. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents and sister, Judy Lou.

He was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church in Dinwiddie. He was a retired warehouse employee at Truck Enterprise, Chester.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Debra Ann “Debbie” Braxton; daughter, Kandy (Michael Fender); grandchildren, Brittany (Spencer Gunn), Makayla (Ryan Haydon), and Taylor Fender (Blake Strawser); seven great-grandchildren; two sisters; Dannette Bristow (Brian) and mother-in-law, Peggy Perkins. A very special thanks to Wayne’s caregivers, sister, Dennette (Brian Bristow), Jeff Martin, Kandy and Michael Fender. Loved by family friends, Junior and Kaye Bland; Godchildren, Meghan (Josh Miles) and family; and Godchild, Josh (Gillian Bland).

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 1, 2025, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, 23834. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, Virginia.
