Louis Fariss

Louis F. Fariss, 82, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Louis M. and Rose Nolley Fariss, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Lola Fariss Casper. . Mr. Fariss was a member of Highland United Methodist Church. He was a veteran in the United States Navy having served during WWII, and was a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284. He was a Repairman for C&P Telephone Company. Mr. Fariss is survived by his wife, Nell Crostic Fariss; a son, Alan F. Fariss of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Brandi Marie and Jackson Marie Fariss; a great-granddaughter, Leah Saige Mathis; sister-in-law, Laura Crostic Pleasants, and husband Henry E.; brother-in-law, Clinton Scott Crostic and wife, Betty. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Keith Ritchie and the Reverend William Rawlings officiating. Interment Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
