Louise Mclaughlin

Louise Witt McLaughlin, 98, of Petersburg passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018. She was born on July 17, 1920 to the late John and Otis Freeman Witt. Mrs. McLaughlin was a former member of Second Baptist Church, now a member at Monumental Baptist Church, and for many years was a secretary for the Witt Roofing Company. She is survived by her grandchildren, Ruth Bryan McLaughlin of Reidville, North Carolina, and Suzanne Keens of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Douglas Grotschel (Jessica), Dylan Grotschel (Demi), Jared Grotschel, and Kathryn Keens; great-great granddaughter, Evelyn Grotschel,; great-great-grandson, Oliver Gordon Grotschel; sister, Doris W. Jones of Petersburg; brother, Gene Witt of Petersburg; a number of nieces and nephews; and a great-niece and devoted caregiver, Hollie Waterman. Mrs. McLaughlin was a great lover of her family and loved God as part of her lifestyle. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Duane Guridy and the Reverend Joe Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
