Lucille Crist

Lucille Young Crist, 89, of Colonial Heights and a true Shenandoah Valley girl, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born on March 1, 1929 in Staunton, Virginia to the late Guy Boyd and Katie Towberman Young, Mrs. Crist was for many years a banker with several Virginia banks retiring from Sovran Bank in the 1990s. She was a member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Fifty and Better Club and the Colonial Heights Optimist Club. She is survived by two sons: W. Konrad Crist, his wife Karen Ann, of Hardy, Virginia and Joseph Boyd "J.B." Crist, his wife Susan of Colonial Heights, Virginia; three grandsons: Konrad Laurence Crist of Virginia Beach, Virginia (wife Meagan and great-grandson Russell Konrad), Kenneth Paul Crist of Spotsylvania, Virginia (wife Joy and grand-children Emma Rose and Carter Mackay) and Andrew "A.J." Crist of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. She is also survived by a nephew John "Jack" Bowman of Staunton, Virginia and predeceased by husband Paul Garber Crist and sisters Winifred Bowman and Harriet Hanger. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday. The graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 in Thornrose Cemetery, 1041 W. Beverley Street, Staunton, Virginia.
