Lucille C. Gravitte, 75, of Chester passed away Monday, December 05, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Richard H. and Maggie Wray Carraway, widow of L. M. Gravitte Sr. and predeceased by a son L. M. "Mickie" Gravitte Jr. Mrs. Gravitte was a member of Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church, the Glen Peck Sunday School Class, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Crater Road Antique Car Club. Lucille was a faithful volunteer at the Tri-Cities Food Pantry. Mrs. Gravitte and her late husband were the former owners of Gravitte Cabinet Shop, founded in 1948, and the Karpet Mart. Survivors include her son, Richard E. "Ricky" Gravitte and wife, Lisa of Chester; daughter in-law Lynn Gravitte of Chesterfield, three grandchildren, James Ryan Gravitte and Elizabeth Madison Gravitte, Robyn Lynn Warren, brother, Clyde F. Carraway and wife, Edith of Dinwiddie and sister in- law Florence Bennett and husband Butch of Dale City. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Rick Geoghegan and the Reverend Tommy Herndon officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George.
