Lynn R. Wilson, loving wife, mother of 5, grandmother of 7, and great grandmother of 8, passed away on September 1, 2018 in Petersburg, Virginia.
Lynn was 84, born on August 15, 1934. She enjoyed feeding the birds, cats, dogs, and other animals, playing card games with her family, selling rediscovered treasures at flea markets, and solving morning word searches with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Della Guinn Weatherly and Samuel D. Weatherly; sister, Rosa May Hardin; three nieces Kathy, Linda and Rosalee; and three nephews, Eddie, Rick, and Dennis.
Lynn is survived by her husband of 50 years, John F. Wilson; three daughters, Sandra Ginn, Kimberly Bennett, and Lisa Wilson; two sons, Bobby Bennett, and Tony Bennett; seven grandchildren, Daffney, Gretchen, Fancye, Brandi, Tony David, Cheyenne, and Logan; eight great grandchildren, Luke, Zack, Valla, Onna, Molly, Tilly, Alyssa, and Oliver; two sisters, Virginia Weatherly, and Honey Leigh Shaw; three nephews, Junior, Alvin, and Ian; and three nieces, Debbie, Alexis, and Alexandria.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one or more of Lynn's favorite causes; St. Jude Children's Hospital, Operation Smile, ASPCA, or American Bird Conservancy.
