Mabel Elaine Vaughan, 64, of Hopewell, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at John Randolph Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Grady I. Lynch Sr. and Mabel Lorene Cannon Browder and was preceded in death by her brother, Grady Lynch Jr. Mrs. Vaughan was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, where she was a devoted member, Sunday School Director and Children's Ministry Director. Elaine will be missed by her loving and devoted family, as well as her church which she held very close to her heart. She is survived by her husband, James W. Vaughan; children, David Kidd and wife, Patricia, Terri Sehenuk and husband, Patrick, Sharon Nowak and husband, Thomas, Alan Kidd and wife, Cindy, Danny Kidd and wife, Amy; a step daughter, Teresa Cooke and husband, Mark; eighteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Katie Puryear, Tammy Willmer, and Bobbi East and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Dr. John P. Mason officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday, June 17, 2011 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
