Mae Spencer Covington, 91, of Petersburg, died Monday, November 24, 2008 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Ethel Webster and William Lester Spencer, and the widow of Robert L. "Flicky" Covington. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and a retired civil service employee of Fort Lee. Survivors include two sons, Leighman Covington and wife, Kate of Garden City, Kansas, Malcolm S. Covington and wife, Caroline of Prince George; two grandchildren, Susan Covington Rothenberg and husband, Andy of Richmond, and Jeffrey Paul Covington of Providence, Rhode Island; great-granddaughter, Caroline Leigh Rothenberg; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008 in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George with the Reverend Robert Hauck officiating. The Petersburg chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 840 W.
