Mallory Johnson

Mallory Thomas Johnson, 93, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at his home. He was born October 30, 1924 to the late Stanley Otis Johnson and Nettie Florence Johnson, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Phoebe Myrtle Johnson; his second wife, Erma King Johnson; a brother, Stanley Otis Johnson Jr.; three sisters, Dorothy Atkinson, Bertha Haddock, and Bessie Carnal; and a grandson, Steve Martin. Mr. Johnson was a United States Army Veteran, serving three years during WWII. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church since 1966 and the Scottish Rite; he was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Johnson retired from Windshield Glass, formerly Petersburg Glass Company. He is survived by a son, Thomas Austin Johnson and wife, Denise; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; step-daughter, Dee Garcia and husband, Steve; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Wesley United Methodist Church, 3701 Conduit Road, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Dr. Donna Mott officiating. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Pilots Lane, Richmond, Virginia 23222. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at church, with Masonic Rites at 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church music program or Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
