Marceline Perkinson-Shields, 89, of Colonial Heights, passed away Friday February 26, 2021. She was born on January 11, 1932 to the late George and Naomi Hawkins. She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church and was the Cafeteria Manager at North Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Ransom Perkinson and Larry Shields; and sister, Arling Daniels. She is survived by her children, Randy Perkinson (Jan) of Colonial Heights, and Rene Vitikacs of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren, Scott Vaughan (Molly) of St. Augustine, Karly Ferguson (Mike) of Jacksonville, Florida, Brian Perkinson (Regina) of Midlothian, and Allison Pilcher (Rob) of Richmond; great-grandchildren, Jordyn Vaughan, Owen Bradley, Reagan Perkinson, Ransom Perkinson, and Hampton Pilcher; and son-in-law, Randy Vaughan. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, S. Prince George, Virginia 23805 with Rev. Robert Rowland III officiating. The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Johnston Willis Hospital, James River Hospice, and The Crossings at Ironbridge.
