Marcella Hebeler

December 3, 1920 — April 28, 2013

Marcella Bertha Hebeler, 92, of Colonial Heights passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013. Born in East Amherst, New York she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Bertha Hiller Mueckl, the widow of Joseph John Hebeler Sr., and was preceded in death by a son, James J. Hebeler. Mrs. Hebeler was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and an active member of the Colonial Heights Senior Citizens Club. She served in the United States Navy during World War II and later worked as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed singing, painting and gardening. Mrs. Hebeler is survived by a daughter, Marsha Ann Weber of Gainesville, Florida; and a son, Joseph John Hebeler Jr. and wife, Kathleen L. of Midlothian; granddaughter, Melissa Iturraspe and husband, Michael; a great-grandson, Joaquin Iturraspe; three nieces, Denise Thompson, Diana and Debbie Jacobs; one nephew, Richard Jacobs; and a great-nephew, Jacob Thompson. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
