Margaret R. “Maggi” Brinkley, 58, of Hopewell, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. She had been in declining health, but death was unexpected. She was born in Munich, Germany on April 21, 1962. She was the daughter of late Edward J. Schneider, Sr., and Mary Martin Schneider. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Ann Schneider, and stepson, Troy Brinkley.
Mrs. Brinkley was a retired Security Supervisor with Wackenhut at Honeywell in Hopewell, VA.
She is survived by her husband Thurman “Chip” Brinkley Jr., stepson James Brinkley, grandchildren Jonathan Brinkley, Katherine Dean, James Brinkley, Jr., Nathan Brinkley, Thomas Brinkley and Ashlee Cintron. She is also survived by a brother, Edward J. Schneider, Jr. and wife, Corrine of London, England, an aunt Jane Martin Jesson of Enterprise, AL, and uncles John S. Martin and Hope Rierson and Joseph E. Martin III all of Elkins, WV, grandchildren, Ashley Brinkley, Dustin Brinkley, Kayla Brinkley, Katherine Dean, and Johnathan Brinkley as well as several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by cousins Leah Wilson and husband Gordon, JR Jesson and wife Tara, Abbey Martin, Jim McCoy and many others. She is also survived by a devoted friends, Teresa Willliamson, and Amanda Dean.
She graduated from Herlong High School, Herlong, CA in 1980. She and Chip were married on August 28, 1993 in Las Vegas, NV.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, VA 23834 . Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to Mass at the church.
Arrangements will be by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
