Margaret Ann Wells DeSouza, 87, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family as she always loved. Born December 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Cary and Eunice Wells, and was also preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Wells, Rachael Wells Blancett, Rose Wells Lunsford, Hunter Wells, Jane Wells Henderson and Donnie Wells. She was a member St. John's Episcopal Church in Petersburg. Margaret Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She was an outstanding seamstress, having made clothes for her family and friends and the nuns of the Sisters of Charity. She is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence F. "Larry" DeSouza; children, Robin D. Jarrett (Alan) of Chester, Jan D. Perkinson (Randy) of Colonial Heights, Jennifer D. Toombs (Rick) of Colonial Heights, Susan D. Rusnak (Raymond Jr.) of Disputanta, Lawrence F. "Larry" DeSouza, Jr. (Catherine) of Richmond; grandchildren, Bradley M. Jarrett, Christopher A. Jarrett, Gregory L. Jarrett, Brian R. Perkinson, Allison P. Pilcher, Kristin T. Vaughan, Kari T. Crews, Tiffany M. Williams, Caroline W. DeSouza, Catherine L. DeSouza, Claire E. DeSouza; and nine great-grandchildren, with another great-grandson on the way, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. A graveside service will be held on 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to either St. John's Episcopal Church, 842 W. Washington St., Petersburg, Virginia, 23804, or St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 151 W.
