Margaret Ann (Maggie) Hargrave passed away peacefully on May 28, 2021, at Southside Regional Medical Center. She will be missed by those who knew her throughout her 91 years on Earth, but she fought a good fight and has gone to a place where her memory and health are restored, she can once again fly with the doves and angels and be at peace. She was born on March 19, 1930, in Petersburg, Virginia and was preceded in death by her mother, Lula K. Price, stepfather, Olyce Price Sr., brother, Olyce (Jack) Price Jr. and father, Robert E. Hargrave. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend to everyone. She is survived by Laure A. Hahn, niece; Cabell Z. Fuller, great nephew; Joseph W. Price, nephew; Mary Joe Price, great niece; Charlotte S. Price, sister-in-law; Catherine R. Beach (Shawn), great niece; Cody and Luke Beach, great-great nephews. Maggie graduated from Petersburg High School in 1947 where she participated in all sports activities and played trombone in the marching band. She attended one year post-graduate course at school and enrolled in the Nursing School in 1948-1951. Maggie worked as a Registered Nurse for 46 years at Petersburg Hospital, Petersburg General Hospital and Southside Regional Medical Center, with special training at Children’s Hospital in Pennsylvania, MCV Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, Miami Heart Institute in Florida and Riverside Hospital in Newport News. She was a faithful member of Tabb St. Presbyterian Church. Her favorite living motto was to leave behind beautiful memories that will live in someone’s heart and that each day of our lives could serve as love and a beacon for others that lights darkened pathways and puts light on fond memories we leave behind. One’s life is not measured by days or years, but by our contributions to do God’s will like a candle glowing in the night. May it never be said we have departed from our Earthly home leaving memories that will fade with the setting sun. May I be remembered for my love and kindness to others. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
