Margaret F. Jackson, 98, of Colonial Heights passed away on Wednesday, January 10. Margaret was born in Petersburg on November 10, 1918. She lived in Chester�eld and graduated from Chester High School. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward L. Fowlkes and Annie Hatcher Fowlkes; and her husband, Benjamin L. Jackson. Margaret was the retired manager of Flora Hill Elementary School cafeteria. Mrs. Jackson enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, traveling with friends and spending time at Highland United Methodist Church. She spent winters in Clearwater, Florida for as long as she could travel, and enjoyed fishing while she was there. She is survived by her only child, Richard W. Jackson (Dianna); three granddaughters, Samantha Rowland (Mark), Heather Rockwood (Jon) and Holly Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Scott Miller, Jesse Miller, Camden Barnes and Ruby Barrett. The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent care Margaret received at the Dunlop House for the last eight months and from Crater Community Hospice for the last three weeks. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 in Highland United Methodist Church, 125 E. Westover Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia, 23834, with the Reverend William Rawlings officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday night, January 12, 2017 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland UMC. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
