Margaret Lewis

Margaret Grinstead Gill Lewis, 93, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Born in Prince George, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late LaFayette Grinstead and Susie Grinstead Frank. She was preceded in death by husbands, Roy Lewis and Charlie Gill, Sr.; granddaughter, Dr. Shannon Gill Sink D.D.S.; step daughter, Janie Ritt, and step son, Calvin Lewis. Mrs. Lewis was a long-time member of Prospect Christian Church, Church Road, Virginia where she was a Trustee and Sunday School Teacher. She served as Secretary of the W.H.F. Ruritan Club and member of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club. Mrs. Lewis retired from Virginia Linen Services. She is survived by three sons, Charlie G. and Sherry F. Gill of Church Road, Dale P. Gill of Blackstone, Curtis D. and Wanda M. Gill of Sutherland; step-daughters, Odelia and Franklin Brockwell of Prince George, Rebecca L. and Al Madden of Prince George; step-son, LeRoy and Estelle Lewis of Dinwiddie; sister, Virginia Frank Bishop of Sutherland; grandchildren Jason Gill (Heather), Brandy G. Lewis (Jamie), Laura Kay Hawkins (Bubba), Curt Gill (April) and Justin Gill (Krystal) along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Sally J. Good officiating. Burial to follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Prospect Christian Church. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com
