Margaret Smith

Margaret Smith, 70, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away at Chippenham Medical Center on Friday, June 9, 2017. Born to the late Columbus and Helen Grant Burgin, Margaret was also preceded in death by her brother, John Michael Burgin. Margaret worked as a beautician and hairdresser for over 50 years and was employed at Fantasy Hair Unlimited for 10 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Thomas Smith, Jr.; her daughters, Kathleen Irby and husband, Randy, and Terry Saley; a sister, Mary Vitiello and husband, Vincent; her grandchildren, Tiffany Merritt and husband, Robert, and Timothy VanSickle; and her great-grandchildren, Trevor, Brendon, Christian, and Liam. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. The family will receive friends an hour before the service.
