Margie Wood

Margie Ann Wood, 79, of Prince George, Virginia passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022. She was born February 17, 1943, in Duplin, North Carolina to the late William and Estella Hobbs Brown, and was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald James Wood; and son, James Steven Wood. She was a member of Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia and attended God’s Storehouse Baptist Church in Chesterfield, Virginia. Margie was Secretary for the family business of Wood and Sons Builders Inc. in Prince George, Virginia. She is survived by her sons, Allen Dale Wood Sr. and wife, Ann and Jeffery Scott Wood and wife, Kate; daughter, Brenda Wood Rosenberg and husband Michael; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Allajean Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 South Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.  Entombment will follow after funeral service at Southlawn Memorial Park, South Prince George.  A visitation will take place on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 3:00 to 4:30 P.M. at the funeral home.  Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
