Maria Ross

Maria Louise Ross, 77, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Smith Ross. Mrs. Ross was the owner of D&F Fabrics in Colonial Heights. She loved her volunteer work which included the Crater District Area Agency on Aging, volunteered at the Army Community Services at Ft. Lee, and the Special Olympics which was very dear to her heart. Mrs. Ross is survived by her children, Alfred Gordon Ross and wife, Ruby of Colonial Heights, Marianne Elizabeth Rinker and husband, Paul of Dinwiddie, Ruby Jane Lentz and husband, Dave of Richmond, and Annie Sue Nichols and husband, Arley of Chesterfield; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Matoaca Christian Fellowship, 7700 River Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with Pastor Ryan Atchison officiating.
