Marilyn Joy Wilcox Beagle, 84, always an angel on Earth earned her heavenly wings on Sunday March 15, 2015 at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk after long and courageous battles with Parkinson's disease and renal failure. "To my Little Girls, Brenda and Beth: I see you crying…it breaks my heart! Please don't cry for now I am free of all the illness and pain that kept me in and out of hospitals and care facilities as Parkinson's tried to take over. Please understand that I have lived a long and very fulfilling life! SPRING Growing up in Mt. Jewett, Pennsylvania with Mia and Bepa and your Aunt Jan was a wonderful experience. I always shared with your all my memories and I can tell you took them to heart because you always though of Mt. Jewett as a magical place SUMMER After graduating from high school attending Business College and many varied social experiences, I enlisted in the Women's Army Corps. During my service in the military I traveled to many places and saw many things. I had my "fling" as I told you kids so many times, and at the same time felt a great sense of accomplishment while serving the country. It was also while in the military I met and married your Daddy. HE gave me my very first and best Mothers Day gift in you Brenda and Beth Ann you were the ultimate birthday present. I loved you girls so much and know that my purpose in life was to be a Mom to you. I had so much fun watching you grow, playing with you and making memories. I also cherished the hard times and challenges that eventually brought us even closer. FALL After you girls graduated high school I felt I needed to contribute in a whole different way. I was heartened by my entire family's encouragement as I reentered the workforce, and during my entire 17 year career at the Colonial Heights Wal-Mart. I always felt secure even as my health began to decline that I was still in a meaningful place in the world. You girls showed me daily how much a part of your lives I was-I hope you will always cherish the memories of our long talks, private jokes, day and weekend trips, memoires at Lake Chautauqua, playing books and runs late in to the night. We created some wonderful memories. WINTER Parkinson's disease tried to keep me down but I bounced back so many times when the doctors had counted me out. I continued to make the most of my time even as my life became a challenge of relearning to walk, fighting the effects of kidney disease, time in long term care facilities and hospitals. You cared for me wonderfully at home as long as you could! Please know I meant it when I told you girls never to feel bad about pacing me in the hands of professionals-there were many wonderful nurses that cared for me while at Walnut Hill, Lake Taylor, and finally at Sentara Leigh. And you were with me right until the very end, talking to me, reading to me and ensuring I got the very best care. Please know that now I can be with Daddy, Mia and Bepa and of course my little kitty angels. Even though I cannot hug you on Earth any more my love will always be with you. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband Hugh P. Beagle Jr. and her parents Merle and Gertrude Wilcox. I addition to her daughters, Marilyn is survived by a sister, Janet Roll and brother in law, Warren; niece, Julie Pitts; nephew, Dan Roll; daughter of her heart, Tab Battle; kitty "Misty" and several cousins and longtime friends.
